IFNTUNG visited “Days of British Education”

01.06.2026

Opportunities for international education, academic mobility, and partnership development were discussed during the “British Education Days” event held at Vasyl Stefanyk Carpathian National University. The delegation from Ivano-Frankivsk National Technical University of Oil and Gas also participated in the event.

The event aimed to acquaint participants with the UK Government scholarship programs for Ukrainian citizens, prospects for inter-university cooperation, professional development of faculty, and the British Council’s programs in the field of education and international interaction.

ІФНТУНГ represented: Vice-Rector for Scientific and Pedagogical Work Serhiy Zikratyy, Director of the Center for International Cooperation and Project Activities Ruslan Rachkevych and an employee of this Center Roksolana Zikrata, coordinator of the Twinning initiative at IFNTUOG, associate professor of the Department of Computer Systems and Networks Marian Slabinoha, Director of the Institute of Humanities and Public Administration Bohdan Hryvnak, , Professor of the Department of Public Administration, Administration, and National Security Vasyl Ostap’yak, Head of the Department of Philology and Translation Mariyana Shtohryn, Associate Professor of the same department Oksana Riba-Hrynishyn and head of the Department of English Language Tetiana Halai.

Among the guests of the event was the Director of the British Council in Ukraine Tom Mishosha, Head of the Lviv Office of the British Embassy Svitlana Yavorska and Chevening Scholarship Program Manager at the British Embassy Anastasia Horashchenko.

Participants learned more about the activities of the British Council in Ukraine, key educational initiatives, and opportunities for international cooperation. Special attention was given to the Chevening Scholarship program and studying in the UK under the Study in the UK with a Fully Funded Chevening Scholarship program. They also discussed the specifics of applying to British universities, the advantages of international education, and tools for professional and academic development.

For IFNTUOG, the topic of international educational partnership is not new, as the university already has successful collaboration experience with the British side. One of the vivid examples is the dual degree program “Information Technology for Sustainable Energy Development,” implemented in cooperation with London South Bank University as part of the Twinning Ukraine initiative. This year, the university already has the second graduation of this educational project.

The meeting sparked significant interest among students and faculty, opening new prospects for academic mobility, international education, and professional development, and for IFNTUOG, it became another step towards expanding international connections and strengthening educational cooperation.
