Automobile Transport

10.06.2026

The Department of Automotive Transport at IFNTUOG offers two bachelor’s degree programs — the classic “Automobile Transport” and the fundamentally new interdisciplinary “Electric, Hybrid Vehicles and Computer Diagnostics of Automotive Electronic Systems.” Both programs prepare specialists for one of Ukraine’s most scarce labor markets: graduates of the Department of Automotive Transport are in high demand and find employment even while studying.

Program “Automobile Transport” (specialty J8)

A classical engineering program for those seeking in-depth knowledge in vehicle design, maintenance, and repair. Covers the full range of mechanical and technical disciplines: internal combustion engines, transmissions, chassis, control systems, technical operation, and service of automotive transport.

Bachelor’s degree in this program includes the Unified State Qualification Exam (USQE), which is a mandatory requirement for obtaining a diploma. The advantage of the program is comprehensive engineering-mechanical training, which forms the basis for further studies in the master’s program or work in the automotive service industry.

New program “Electric, Hybrid Vehicles and Computer Diagnostics” (specialties J8 + G5)

This is a fundamentally new interdisciplinary program developed by the department in response to the rapid development of electromobility and the complexity of modern car electronic systems. A modern car is a complex mechatronic system where the number of electronic and mechatronic units already exceeds the number of mechanical ones. The demand for specialists capable of efficiently servicing electric vehicles, hybrids, and automotive computer systems has become critical — and this program directly addresses this challenge.

Key advantage: two diplomas for one course of study

Applying to the “Electric, Hybrid Vehicles and Computer Diagnostics” program, a student receives a bachelor’s degree in two specializations over the standard 4 years (or 3 years for college graduates):

This doubles the employment opportunities: a graduate can apply for positions in car service, companies involved in the development and repair of electronic and microprocessor systems, as well as in the field of electromobility and digital diagnostics.

What is studied in the new program

The program fully retains all core automotive disciplines — the level of training in mechanics and automotive technology is identical to the classic “Automotive Transport” program. Additionally, courses in electronics and automotive electronic communications are introduced, forming the basis for specialized courses in computer diagnostics, electronic vehicle systems, electric vehicles, and hybrid vehicles.

Training is conducted on real electric vehicles and hybrid cars, on electronic systems with gasoline (MPi) and diesel (CR) engines — using licensed computer diagnostic equipment.

Without EIT and convenient for those abroad

For the new program, the main specialty selected is G5, which does not require the Unified State Qualification Exam. This means that the student is guaranteed to receive a diploma after the defense without additional risks associated with the exam. For those studying remotely or temporarily abroad, this advantage is particularly important — the exam takes place only in Ukraine, whereas the G5 program does not require it.

Program “Automobile Transport” — Master’s level

For those wishing to continue their studies after a bachelor’s degree, the department offers a master’s program in “Automotive Transport.” The master’s program is designed for 1 year and 4 months (3 semesters) and concludes with a master’s thesis. The program is accredited by the NAQA of Ukraine.

Dual Education and Individual Plans

The Department of Automobile Transport accommodates students who combine study and work: there is an opportunity to study through dual education mechanisms or individual study plans. For further details, please contact the department:+38 095 137 37 53, +38 068 754 07 27
