Educational and Scientific Laboratory of Nanomaterials and Nanocomposites

The Educational and Scientific Laboratory of Nanomaterials and Nanocomposites is a specialized scientific and educational unit of the Ivano-Frankivsk National Technical University of Oil and Gas. Its activities are aimed at conducting fundamental and applied research in the field of nanotechnology, materials science, ecology, and modern functional materials. The laboratory is used for the training of higher education applicants, conducting research work, qualification and dissertation studies, as well as the implementation of scientific projects in the creation and application of nanomaterials.


The main focus of the laboratory’s activities is the synthesis, modification, and study of nanomaterials and nanocomposites with predictable physico-chemical properties. The laboratory conducts work on obtaining metal nanoparticles and metal oxides, creating polymer, mineral, and carbon nanocomposites, as well as researching their structure, morphology, chemical composition, and functional characteristics.

An important direction of scientific activity is the development of environmentally purposed nanomaterials for the purification of water, soils, and air from anthropogenic pollutants. Research is being conducted on the adsorption, catalytic, and photocatalytic properties of nanomaterials, assessing their effectiveness in the removal of heavy metals, petroleum products, organic pollutants, and other hazardous substances from environmental components.

The laboratory also conducts research on the use of nanomaterials for the remediation of contaminated areas, stabilization of toxic components in soils, enhancement of the efficiency of environmental protection technologies, and the creation of new composite materials with improved mechanical, sorption, and anticorrosion properties.

The laboratory’s material and technical base ensures the execution of work related to the synthesis, modification, and preparation of nanomaterials, conducting physicochemical studies, analyzing the structure and properties of obtained samples. The laboratory equipment allows for sample preparation, nanoparticle synthesis, production of nanocomposites, and conducting experimental research in laboratory conditions.

На базі лабораторії виконуються науково-дослідні роботи, спрямовані на створення нових наноматеріалів і нанокомпозитів для екологічних, енергетичних, технологічних та інженерних застосувань. Результати досліджень використовуються під час підготовки наукових публікацій, виконання грантових і держбюджетних проєктів, а також впровадження інноваційних розробок у виробництво. Translation: Scientific research is conducted in the laboratory to create new nanomaterials and nanocomposites for environmental, energy, technological, and engineering applications. The research results are utilized in the preparation of scientific publications, execution of grant and state-funded projects, and the implementation of innovative developments in production.

The Educational and Scientific Laboratory of Nanomaterials and Nanocomposites is an important component of the university’s scientific infrastructure and ensures the development of modern research in the fields of nanotechnology, materials science, environmental protection, and resource-saving technologies.
